John Hopkins Earns Top Honor at Schoharie County Solo Festival

Last month, student musicians from across the region gathered for the Schoharie County Concert Band’s 23rd Annual Donald Webster Solo Festival. A total of 13 students representing schools throughout Schoharie County participated, each preparing and performing New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) solos ranging from Levels 1 through 6.
Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District is proud to recognize C-R Co-Valedictorian John Hopkins, who earned top honors in the senior solo category. John performed his flute solo, originally prepared for his NYSSMA performance last year, and was awarded a $500 prize for his outstanding performance.
John’s dedication to music extends beyond performance. He is a multi-instrumentalist who also writes and arranges his own music. Following graduation this spring, he plans to continue pursuing his love for music.
Congratulations to John on this impressive achievement!
